Application: The method has wide uses at all stages of the strategic process, in any type of organization. It is valuable wherever there is a need for determining and evaluating solutions to a given problem.
Method: This is an expert-workshop method. It may be used alternately with other methods in order to find a list of solutions, to verify and evaluate them, also iteratively. In its simplest form, it consists of two stages:
- Expert stage: at which the expert team prepares the first set of solutions (e.g. scenarios, product examples, technology sets),
- Session Stage: at which sessions with stakeholders are organized in order to find alternatives to previously formulated solutions, amend the list of available options and verify and evaluate them. At this stage the applied methodology is adapted to the given problem.
With the use of this method, it is possible to generate, verify and adjust i.a. business scenarios, solutions, products, key technology sets or strategic document assumptions in a relatively short period of time.
